ABOUT DISPATCH UNMUTED

There's a human under every headset.

Dispatchers spend their shifts carrying other people through some of the hardest moments of their lives. But the person answering the call has a life happening, too.

WHY WE'RE HERE

Because being capable of doing the job doesn’t mean the job — or life — doesn’t affect us.

Dispatch Unmuted is a space for the conversations that don't always happen at the console. The grief. The exhaustion. The humor. The heartbreak. The calls that stay with us. And the life we carry into the center before the headset ever goes on.

HOW THIS STARTED

Built from lived experience.

Dispatch Unmuted started with a simple realization: the people who spend their careers being there for everyone else need somewhere they can be human, too.

This isn't about pretending we have all the answers. It's about making room for real conversations, shared experiences, practical support, and the kind of connection that comes from someone saying, “I understand the chair.”

We don't have to pretend nothing affects us just because we're capable of doing the job.

Here, strength and struggle are allowed to exist in the same sentence. Humor belongs here. Hard conversations belong here. And nobody has to earn the right to be heard by reaching a breaking point first.

01

Real conversation.

No polished version required. We talk about the parts of dispatch — and life — that are usually carried quietly.

02

Community.

A reminder that someone else understands the chair, even when they aren't sitting beside you.

03

The person first.

The work matters. So does the human doing it. The console doesn't define you.

You are more than the worst calls you take.

Whether you're here to listen, laugh, share, find resources, or simply realize you're not the only one carrying something heavy — there's a seat for you here.

LIFE GETS HEAVY. WE DON'T HAVE TO CARRY IT QUIETLY.
